1. Leaks and Structural Weaknesses

If mould appears in concentrated patches, it may indicate a leak in the pipework, around window/door frames, or a flaw in the external structure.
When the source isn’t obvious, our damp specialists use advanced, non-destructive methods to locate hidden leaks efficiently.

2. Condensation and Humidity

Condensation occurs when warm, moist air meets a cold surface. To reduce condensation:

• Minimise indoor moisture (e.g. from cooking, drying clothes indoors, etc.)

• Increase ventilation by using extractor fans or opening windows

3. Rising Damp

Rising damp is moisture that travels up through walls, floors, and masonry via capillary action – usually no higher than 1.5 metres. If damp is found above this level, it's likely from another source.

Signs of rising damp include:

• Peeling or blistering paint and wallpaper

• Warped or rotting skirting boards

• Visible damp patches

• Mould spores (black or green) on lower walls
